Who we are
A small team with a specific focus
Wonder-escape was set up in 2022 with one purpose: to provide (reliable, context-aware) translation services for documents that actually matter. We work with certified translators who specialise by subject area, not generalists juggling every field at once.
Our work covers legal contracts, immigration paperwork, technical manuals, and corporate communications. Each project goes through a review stage before delivery — no exceptions.
Being based in Palmerston North, we serve clients across all regions of New Zealand with consistent turnaround standards regardless of location.
What the work looks like
Three areas where precision counts
Certified translations
Contracts, affidavits, court documents, and immigration forms require certified accuracy. We work with NAATI-recognised translators and provide signed certification where required.
Technical documentation
Product manuals, software UI strings, and engineering specifications need terminological consistency. We maintain glossaries per client to keep language stable across multiple documents.
Localisation & adaptation
Translating words is different from adapting meaning for a specific audience. We adjust idioms, date formats, measurement units, and cultural references for the New Zealand context.

How we work
Each project follows a defined process
Inconsistency in translation usually comes from unclear handoffs and no review stage. Our workflow is structured to prevent both.
Document assessment
We review the source material for subject area, register, and any specialist terminology before assigning a translator. Complexity affects timeline — we communicate that upfront.
Subject-matched translation
Legal documents go to legal translators. Technical content goes to translators with relevant field experience. Generic assignment is not part of how we operate.
Independent review
A second translator reviews the output against the source. This catches terminology drift, missed context, and formatting issues before the document reaches you.
Delivery and archiving
Final documents are delivered in your required format. We archive source files and glossaries so any future revision starts from a consistent base.
